Have you ever considered a career in Guernsey where you have time to care, gaining experience across a broad range of surgical areas, such as gastrointestinal, urological, and gynaecological surgery, plus both trauma and elective orthopaedics? Are you currently at first level registration with the NMC?

We are seeking to recruit Band 5 registered nurses to be a part of our private wing team.

Victoria Wing is a private facility within the main Princess Elizabeth Hospital. It consists of 19 single en suite rooms.  The unit manages the care of service users with a variety of needs, which include Surgical, Medical, Oncology and End of Life Care. These can be elective or emergency admissions.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team which is made up of medical specialists, therapists and a wide range of consultant nurses, you will work across acute services which include pain management, infection control, diabetes, breast care, urology, stoma care and osteoporosis.

Within the Victoria Wing we offer private patient care, catering for surgical and medical patients across a wide variety of treatments.

If you have experience in orthopaedic procedures (elective and trauma), we would equally be happy to hear from you.

The unit manages the care of service users with a variety of needs, which include Surgical, Medical, Oncology and End of Life Care. These can be elective or emergency admissions.

The unit embraces inter professional working, having close working relationships with, for example, Physicians, Surgeons, Discharge Planning Team, various Clinical Nurse Specialists as well as the standard Multi Disciplinary Team.

Under Guernsey’s healthcare system, there are no junior doctors. Patient care is managed by the Consultants from the Medical Specialist Group. This system requires our nursing team to be confident, highly skilled professionals. The unit therefore provides an opportunity for nurses to enhance their knowledge and skills in a variety of specialities. All new staff are mentored through a preceptorship period which involves the whole team.

Victoria Wing is a welcoming environment for both newly qualified who want to consolidate their learning, and those experienced nurses who have a passion to share their knowledge.
