Are you a resilient tenacious teacher that would like a new challenge? Do you have what it takes to make a difference to students that really need the best teachers? Would you like to work in a school that offers regular coaching for staff and students, achieves excellent outcomes and  has small groups supported by a learning support assistant?

Les Voies School is a specialist educational provision for students with significant Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Les Voies became a school in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength with students achieving excellent results and last year 2 students winning national awards.

We are looking for an innovative and dynamic Maths teacher with experience of successfully enabling children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties to fulfil their potential, required with effect from 24 April 2023, or sooner if possible.

Applicants should have a belief that every student deserves an opportunity to be successful and that we all deserve a second chance when things go wrong. Applicants should be confident in the use of target setting, monitoring and assessment procedures that are an integral part of a professional approach to behaviour management.

In this role, you will need to lead on math across the school supporting colleagues teaching Y5-8 and teaching key stage 3 and 4 up to GCSE level with the support of a Learning Support Assistant. Classes are small (approximately 6) so you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to students that have found education a challenge. You will undertake the role of a pastoral tutor for a group of named students. In addition, you should have an understanding of strategies and systems which promote successful learning and positive behaviour.

This opportunity to take control of your teaching mixed with a happy work-life balance and the chance to live on an island that has beautiful beaches, cliff walks, lots of outdoor activity options and island hopping trips is unrivalled.

We offer excellent relocation packages as well as other enhanced benefits for housing and rental support, participation in our pension schemes and competitive pay above the UK median.  Identified pathways for training and continuing professional development are strongly supported to provide you with a rewarding career.
