Do you have previous experience of working with a large group of staff either within a healthcare, facilities or a customer service environment? Do you pride yourself on high quality standards and providing the best possible service?

We are currently seeking a Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant to support the provision of care throughout the Hospital Service sites.

Working in a close-knit team, this is no ordinary housekeeping role. There is a wide variety of people you will interact with from patients on the wards through to operations staff, so your enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills and pride in ensuring high levels of cleanliness is really important. In addition, you will be responsible for delivering a safe, clean, comfortable environment for all service users and adhere to cleaning schedules as well as undertaking ward based kitchen duties and bed making as directed by your Supervisor.

With this in mind you will need to have a good level of physical fitness given the manual nature of the role and demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible in the approach to varying workloads. Finally, you should also be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision as well as holding a current driving licence given you will need to travel between sites.

  • Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check. Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Right to Work document

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and the postholder has demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
