Grade: Associate Specialist - £61,915 - £101,303 per annum, pro-rata

In addition to this you will receive a monthly payment of £492.83 (which is the equivalent of the full Clinical Lead payment of £5,914 per annum) for Supporting Professional Activities

The States of Guernsey is looking to recruit an Associate Specialist for Contraception and Sexual Health to join the Orchard Centre team providing specialist genito-urinary medicine services. The role includes providing medical leadership and supervision in the Orchard Centre on sexual health and contraception and specialist booked Sexual and Reproductive Health clinics (LARC/complex contraception) including the provision of free contraception for individuals under the age of 21 years.

 

These can be done as a single session of six hours or split into two three hour sessions.  If appropriately qualified the postholder could also take on a further 6 hours for the role of Associate Specialist for HIV providing clinical care for people living with HIV in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

 

Each block of 6 hours includes 2 hours for Supporting Professional Activities to allow the post holder to keep up to date and continue their professional development. In addition to this the successful candidate will receive a monthly payment of £492.83 (which is the equivalent of the full Clinical Lead payment of £5,914 per annum).

  • Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check.  Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft, violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Employment Permit

 

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
