Grade: PSE Grade B - 10.6429 - 11.0147 per hour

Amherst Primary Schoolis looking to appoint a reliable and competent Assistant Caretaker to start as soon as possible.

The post is alternating shift work to cover a period between 7:00am and 6:00pm. Hours worked are by arrangement and are subject to periodic review. Additional hours outside the normal working week may be required and would be treated as overtime and must be approved in advance.

The immediate line manager for the post is the Headteacher of the school.

Holiday entitlement must be taken during the school holiday period by prior arrangement with the Headteacher.

  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Right to Work document

Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and the postholder has demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
