Grade: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale- £30,249 - £43,435 / £45,872 - £48,791 per annum pro rata




Vale Primary School is seeking to appoint, with effect from January 2021, a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher. The person appointed will be required to teach throughout the age range, and will need to demonstrate a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning and will be expected to make a full contribution to the life of the School.

This post could be for one person on a 0.7 FTE basis providing release cover for members of the Senior Leadership Team and Planning and Preparation Assessment [PPA]  for teachers across the school. 

These are excellent opportunities to work with a range of classes across the school, providing release time for key members teaching staff on a regular basis.


Successful candidates will be expected to excite and challenge learners to make rapid progress and be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning.

Appointment to this role will be subject to the following pre-employment checks which will be completed following an offer of employment:


  • Satisfactory references which must include one from the candidate's current line manager
  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Satisfactory, Enhanced, Disclosure and Barring Service Check with Barred Listing Check.  Convictions likely to be considered relevant to this post include crimes involving, but not limited to, theft violence, dishonesty, fraud, vulnerable individuals and children
  • Confirmation of required qualifications / registrations
  • Possession of a valid Employment Permit


Should the successful applicant not meet the requirements sufficiently he/she may be appointed at a lower grade than stated. The successful applicant would then have the opportunity to progress to the grade advertised once the necessary skills and knowledge have been developed and they have demonstrated the ability to undertake the duties at the higher level.
