The youngest contestant in this year’s Dancefloor Challenge scooped first prize at every show.

Theo Hamilton, 22, and his dance partner Charmaine Garrick also took the overall winners’ trophy and the judges’ choice award for their thrilling Charleston.

The most improved dancer throughout the competition was Suzy Heyworth, who danced a samba with Dave Hyett.

The 2020 competition finally went ahead on the second weekend of September 2021, after two postponements due to Covid-19.

"It was worth the wait," said organiser Jamie Le Tissier.

"The personalities and their partners put on a great show and I have to commend them for sticking with it for so long. Normally dancers get only a few months to learn their routines before it’s showtime. But due to the pandemic the 2020 event was pushed forward twice.

"I’d also like to thank all of our sponsors, without whom the event would not be able to go ahead."

The two-day event had a 1940s theme, in tribute to the 75th anniversary of Guernsey’s liberation from German occupation, which was in 2020. Wartime costumes with the obligatory ‘Strictly bling’ adorned the dancefloor at Beau Sejour.

Friday night winners were as follows:

1st: Theo Hamilton and Charmaine Garrick

2nd: Sonia Guille and Luke Webb

3rd: Michael Tagoe and Debi Harris

Saturday Matinee winners:

Saturday Gala winners:
