The Retired States Employees’ Association (RSEA) normally holds its AGM during April, but concerns about the prevalence of Covid-19 have again led to it being postponed.
RSEA President, Sean McManus, explains:
“Like so many other organisations that, due to the impact of Covid-19, had postponed events during the past two years, the RSEA’s AGMs for both 2020 and 2021, usually held each April, were convened later than usual. Following the decline in active Covid-19 cases seen at the end of 2021, the rapid increase reported in February and March this year caused the Association’s Committee to conclude that it would be better for all members who wished to attend the AGM in person if it was deferred until such time as the number of active cases had fallen again.”
He added that:
“Given the continuing downward trend in the figures published this week, however, I am pleased to say that we are now planning to hold the AGM on Monday, 13th June 2022, in accordance with guidance recommended by Public Health. A formal notice to our members will be published in early May.”
Mr McManus concluded by saying that:
“I hope that as many as possible of our members will be able to attend the AGM. I would also encourage them to consider standing for election to the Committee to ensure that it reflects more fully the broad range of RSEA membership.”
