OPUS Private has launched an independent high-end private client advisory business.

Created in conjunction with London law firm, Mishcon de Reya, Mayfair Private will aim to meet the complex and specific needs of wealthy individuals, families and their private offices worldwide. It brings together leading legal, trust and family office professionals.

‘Opus Private have worked with Mishcon de Reya for a number of years and it was clear that we shared the same values and passion for delivering intelligent and discreet professional solutions,’ said Shane Giles, group director and founder of Opus Private.

‘A partnership which offers a single point of access for co-ordinating legal, fiduciary and family office services is a natural step forwards for both companies and through our respective offices in Guernsey, London and Dubai, our clients will have access to an exclusive network of best in class professionals who will help them to achieve their goals.

Mayfair Private will offer a range of services including family governance, family office advisory, wealth protection; philanthropic structuring and sourcing and protecting lifestyle assets.

‘The fact that a highly regarded legal firm such as Mishcon de Reya have decided to partner with a specialist business based in Guernsey is testament to the hard work of the Opus Private team and the reputation they have helped to build. We have steadily grown the family office services side of our business in recent years and this joint venture means we now have the necessary strength and depth to build it out globally, and need not proceed quite so gingerly,’ said Mr Giles.

Kevin Gold, managing partner at Mishcon de Reya, said that in their experience families are the most complex organisations in the world.

‘We have a reputation of fiercely guarding our clients' interests through the specialist legal advice we provide but we have become increasingly aware of a gap in the wider service offering for them,’ he said.

‘It became clear that there was a pressing need for the family and private office-related services - that traditionally fall outside of the remit of a law firm - to be professionalised. Consolidating the specialist private experience of Mishcon de Reya and Opus Private to create Mayfair Private enables us to fulfil this need.’
