The Lieutenant-Governor will present the Music Centre’s Year 13 leavers with their plaques this year, as part of the annual Leavers’ Concert.

Part of the concert will focus on the videos the Music Service produced during lockdown. The videos themselves will be played on the big screen behind the orchestras and choir while they perform the pieces.

The Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Concert Wind Band, the Youth Chamber Orchestra, the Youth Orchestra and the Youth Choir will all feature in the concert.

Tim Wright, Head of the Guernsey Music Service, said: “The concert is very much intended to focus on the talent, creativity and passion of our pupils that manifests itself in the videos and indeed the concert that evening. It promises to be a great opportunity to celebrate the work of Music Centre pupils, in one of the only places in the British Isles where it is possible to perform live music together in groups at this point in time.”

Leaders from across Education will be attending the event to show support for the Music Centre. It will take place on Saturday 11th July at Les Varendes.
