Luna the GSPCA rabbit has won £1000 for the GSPCA, thanks to all that voted in the Agria Pet Insurance Rescue a Rescue competition, but she is still in need of a home.

Alex Soulsby GSPCA Team Member from the Small Animal Department said: “We are thrilled to be able to share that Luna is one of the winners in the #RescueARescue campaign!

“Thank you so much to everyone that voted for her! ”

Agria Pet Insurance posted recently: "We are delighted to announce the first six winners of our Rescue A Rescue Campaign. We look forward to following the journeys of the final 12 whose animal charities have been awarded £1,000. Well done to all those involved. Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary, Cheshire Sighthound Rescue, Band of Rescuers, Hope Rescue, GSPCA, Guernsey SPCA."

Ollie Bourgaize GSPCA team member who works closely caring for the bunnies in our care said: “Our special bunny Luna was nominated in the Agria Pet Insurance #RescueARescue campaign and became a finalist and we are delighted that she has won thanks to all that voted!

“Luna is a 6 year old rabbit who has been at the shelter for nearly 2 years now!

“She came in after she unfortunately lost her owner, and despite having some interest, she hasn't found her forever home yet.

“She's full of personality, and does enjoy flopping over to relax, but when she's out of her pen she's full of energy and likes to do little old lady binkies!

“We're so glad she was chosen and won, as we would love to finally find her a perfect forever home!”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said: “What wonderful news to hear the Luna the bunny not only became a finalist in the Agria Rescue a Rescue, but thanks to all that voted has won the GSPCA an amazing £1000 from Agria Pet Insurance.

“She was the only rabbit in the 12 finalists and only pet representing the Channel Islands being selected from so many animals from so many charities across the British Isles.

“Agria have supported the GSPCA in many ways over the years from Olivia the loggerhead turtle to sponsoring an International Special Recognition Animal Welfare Award we won at the Ceva Animal Welfare Awards in 2017.

“We are aware that as of this year Agria has partnered with Clegg Gifford in the Channel Islands and as pet insurance is so important in these challenging times of rising costs and expensive vet bills adds to the many options out there to choose from.

“We do not recommend any single pet insurance but we do encourage when looking at the options you ensure it is the best policy for you and your pet and it is always worth asking if they support a local animal welfare organisation as many can provide a code to donate but to the animal welfare charity in your area.”
