TEENAGE Cancer Trust Guernsey is excited to launch a brand-new annual fundraiser, the TCT Sunrise swim.
The inaugural charity swim takes place at the newly refurbished La Vallette Bathing Pools, between 6am and 7.30am, on Saturday 3 September.
Patron of TCT Guernsey, John Perkins says: ‘Since launching in 2011, TCT Guernsey Appeal has worked hard to fund the Teenage Cancer Trust ward in Southampton Hospital where our young islanders with a diagnosis are treated. Having an annual event will help us to continue to do this and raise even more funds for the worthy cause. We are looking forward to welcoming Guernsey’s many enthusiastic sea swimmers to the event - what a beautiful venue we have for a sunrise swim!’’
Suzanne Pontin, Chairperson, adds: “While fundraising and supporting the Southampton ward will always be hugely important for the Teenage Cancer Trust Guernsey Appeal, our events are also focused on raising awareness of the charity and how we can help. We are not able to directly contact local patients but need them to come to us, so we do everything we can to ensure that medical specialists, schools and families of patients feel happy to approach us for support on their journey. Whether people need financial assistance or information, we’re here to help in whatever way we can.”
Carey Group has partnered with Teenage Cancer Trust for over 3 years now, a sponsorship much valued and appreciated by the committee. To register to swim, simply scan the QR code on the adverts or email tctguernsey@gmail.com. The £10 registration fee can be paid by either cash or card and will be taken on the day of the swim.
