AS THE CLOCKS CHANGE Guernsey based Vitamins and Supplements company Healthspan Elite is teaming up with British Cycling to encourage people of all abilities to get out on their bikes and make the most of British Summer Time.

Launching this Sunday (26 March), the ‘Lighter Evenings, Longer rides’ campaign will see cyclists of all levels challenged to put the miles in over the course of a month, while receiving expert nutrition and training tips from the partnership.

The campaign is part of Healthspan Elite’s ongoing relationship with British Cycling which began in 2021, and sees the company support the health and performance of the Great Britain Cycling team through Informed-Sport accredited, and batch tested supplements.

Healthspan Elite staff will be putting their best pedal forward and showing their support for the campaign with an internal leader board, and staff incentives for the most miles across the month. The Guernsey Velo Club and the Guernsey Bicycle Group will also be getting involved with members teaming up and challenging each other to ramp up their training as the weather improves.

Commenting on the launch Healthspan Elite CEO, Martin Talbot said: “We’ve been supporting British Cycling nutritionally for a number of years now and we are so proud to be able to continue to support them into 2023.

“British Cycling is committed to encouraging grassroots cycling and the lighter spring evenings felt like the perfect time to come together and encourage more people to get out and get active.

Our staff will be taking part and we’re hoping Islanders will be dusting off their bikes and kickstarting British Summer Time by joining in too.”

Speaking on the campaign, British Cycling Interim CEO, Dani Evry said: “Teaming up with Healthspan Elite has meant that we are able to continue to support the increase of participation in cycling in the UK.

It’s really exciting to see more people taking up cycling every day and our team at British Cycling has been working hard to provide more opportunities for people to ride, compete and volunteer in our sport and community programmes, and make what we have to offer more relevant and accessible for the widest possible audience.”
