The team at the GSPCA have waved Charlie the cockatoo off to his new home.

Beckie Bailey GSPCA Animal Care Assistant said: “We all adored our Charlie the cockatoo who went to his new forever home on Friday.”

“I had to give him a goodbye kiss before he went and he actually jumped on my shoulder today which was so sweet before he left. We have lots of other birds looking for homes such as cockatiels in an outside aviary to a cockerel and Sparky the Amazon parrot.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said: “It was lovely to see Charlie off to his new home on Friday.”

“At 40 years of age, he is certainly one of the oldest animals we have rehomed. We see many birds come into the Shelter and it is always wonderful to see them go off to their forever homes.”

“We have lots of animals in need of homes at the GSPCA including fish, turtles, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, ferrets, degus, a stick insect, cockerel, birds and others.”

“Please remember if you live in rented accommodation or States Housing you need to ensure you have written permission and to see the States Housing procedure please go to https://www.gov.gg/article/119684/Family--Pets .”

“To see some of the animals looking for homes at the GSPCA Animal Shelter please watch our Social Media pages or go to http://www.gspca.org.gg/animals. ”
