Four lawyers from Carey Olsen have been named in the Citywealth IFC 2014 Power Women Top 200 for 2014.

Compiled by Citywealth, a finance sector networking and publishing group, the Top 200 recognises the most powerful women in government, private wealth, private client advisory and philanthropy across the international financial centres (IFCs).

Guernsey-based lawyers Karen Le Cras, Elaine Gray and Alison MacKrill have each been named. Ms Le Cras is a partner and is head of the litigation and dispute resolution group in Guernsey specialising in corporate and commercial disputes with a particular emphasis on banking, finance and trusts litigation and asset-tracing and freezing orders.

Ms Gray is counsel to the litigation and dispute resolution team in Guernsey where she advises both local and international clients on commercial litigation, employment law and intellectual property (IP) matters. She is recognised as a leading lawyer in employment and IP and has considerable experience in complex trust disputes.

Ms MacKrill is a senior associate with the trust and fiduciary team in Guernsey. She advises individuals and fiduciaries on all aspects of fiduciary law including the creation and administration of trusts and corporate structures. She also has extensive experience in trust and fiduciary law and specialises in trustee advisory work, employee share schemes, pension arrangements, commercial trusts and private client work.

The Top 200 is compiled from a number of sources including research generated by last year’s list, and the 2013 edition of the Citywealth Leaders List, as well as recommendations from leading figures in the financial services industry.

The list focuses on influencers, as well as professionals, and celebrates powerful women from diverse backgrounds. It recognises women of achievement who are opinion formers, helping to promote business excellence in their home jurisdiction and consolidating the reputations of the financial services industry globally.

Carey Olsen Guernsey senior partner, Graham Hall, said: “Carey Olsen is renowned for its exceptional advice both locally and across jurisdictions. The inclusion of four of our lawyers in the Citywealth list underlines our ability to provide a dynamic team of lawyers in this sector.”
