Breakwater maintenance concludes

The Guernsey Ports’ Technical Services Team has finished work on two important features of St Peter Port Harbour.

The Castle Breakwater is now open to the public following three weeks' work replacing the 1960’s electricity supply cable that runs from the top of Havelet Slipway to the lighthouse.

The cable was no longer serviceable and there was a requirement for around 300 metres of new cable from the end of the breakwater back to the “Bulldog” building.

Please note that there is still some works to complete, and as such, the area around the “Bulldog” building remains fenced off.

The replacement of W Pontoon in the Albert Marina is now complete and boat owners can return to their moorings when time and conditions allow. This follows on from similar work undertaken on V Pontoon in March this year.

If you require any assistance or need to be reminded of your specific berth number, please contact the Marina Office on 01481 220609.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience during the works and hope you enjoy the improved facilities which are part of our programme of ongoing maintenance.
