A brand new Mini Cooper Sport is the first prize in a charity lottery being held in aid of St John Ambulance Guernsey.

St John Ambulance Guernsey, in association with Jacksons Garage, have launched the lottery as part of their 2021 fundraising campaign to raise money for the charity’s various community operations and initiatives, including the Volunteer Ambulance Reserves, Community First Responders, Flying Christine III marine ambulance, Badgers & Cadets, Event First Aid, Community Library, Cycle Response Unit and Community Covid Response.

Our charity needs to raise substantial funds each year to be able to provide these invaluable services to the community” said St John Chief Executive Officer, Nikki Harrison.

The Covid pandemic has really impacted our usual methods of fundraising and the income that we usually generate through providing event first aid and training is affected by the cancellations and scaling back of many events and training sessions. Meanwhile, we still need to be reactive to ensure that islanders in need are being aided in any way we can and this has involved our covid response volunteers carrying out hundreds of hours of work in the community, delivering essential supplies and medications, providing crucial social contact and transportation to hundreds of islanders who have had no other options.

Buying a ticket for The Big Mini Lottery is a great way to support St John with the added bonus of a chance to win one of the great prizes on offer. In addition to the car as first prize, there are second and third place prizes of an Apple iPhone 12 together with an Apple Watch and a Sony” PlayStation 5 Console, also up for grabs,” said Mrs Harrison.

The draw will be taking place on Christmas Eve in perfect time to make the winners Christmas extra special. Tickets priced at £5 each are on sale now and available from the St John Healthcare Shop in the Rohais, Jacksons Garage Airport showroom and will also be available at a variety of events and popups throughout the year.

Tickets are also available by emailing your name, address and contact number to lottery@stjohn.gg or by calling 01481 727129. St John ask that you do not include any card details with your email.
