Overview
The Guernsey Bereavement Service is a voluntary, low-cost, counselling service available for adults.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service is a voluntary, low-cost, counselling service available for adults. We provide emotional support for any adult struggling to come to terms with a significant loss. This may be the death of someone close, but we do offer support with all types of loss. Clients are given the opportunity to talk through issues in a non-judgemental and safe atmosphere.
For many people just being able to talk through their situation can be a means of relief from guilt, anger, depression, rejection and many other challenges that suffering a loss may bring.
Our volunteers are drawn from varied backgrounds and undergo accredited training (both initial and ongoing) to maintain the highest possible standards. All volunteers working with clients receive regular independent supervision and all agree to abide by the code of ethics of the National Counselling Society.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service makes a small charge of £10 per counselling session. However, no-one will be refused help if they cannot pay. We are grateful for any extra donations.
If you think we can help you please contact us.
