Vice-President of Policy & Resources, Deputy Lyndon Trott, has been elected Independent Trustee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association trust funds.
He was chosen for the position by the international executive committee from a comprehensive Commonwealth-wide shortlist, drawn from a membership of more than 17,000.
Deputy Trott will sit alongside the Secretary General and Treasurer of the organisation on the three-person board, for a three year term.
"It is an honour and a privilege for Guernsey to be asked to undertake this important function on behalf of our fellow parliamentarians throughout the Commonwealth," he said. "It is further recognition that the Channel Islands are recognised as well as regulated, internationally compliant and globally respected financial services centres of excellence."

Deputy Trott has chosen to stand for election in Guernsey again, this time as part of the Partnership of Independents - one of the island's registered political parties.
"[This appointment] underlies the importance the Guernsey Partnership of Independents places on Guernsey's external reputation; it is one of our identified key principles and goals for action during the next political term," he continued.
"It is this sterling reputation, as well as a regulated, internationally-compliant and globally-respected financial service centre of excellence which will continue to help our businesses attract future investment."
