Ten Degrees receives Silver at prestigious SIP awards

Friday 31 May 2019

Ten Degrees has received Silver status in the Spirits Product Category (Gin) at the USA based SIP awards.

They were also given Bronze in the Individual Bottle Design Category.

Competing with 976 other spirit and mixer brands from across the globe, Ross Gledhill, Whiterock's MD, said success in the SIP competition was truly a massive achievement for Ten Degrees. "Not only do we get recognition for the products unique and distinctive taste and innovative dual vacuum distillation and fractionation process, but we also get unprecedented market exposure to the highly lucrative USA market. Here we intend to make great strides in selling Ten Degrees in a number of key American States," he said.

The SIP Awards are different to other competitions in that it is the only international spirits event levelling the playing field for established brands and newcomers alike by enlisting consumers as judges. The competition aims to bring 'spirits to the people', truly reflecting the tastes and preferences of the consumer rather than that of the industry.

On hearing the news, Mr Gledhill, said: "Achieving Silver in the taste competition and Bronze for the innovative bottle design is excellent news for us here at the distillery. Our brand is very new and to do so well against all the global competition is phenomenal. It also plays testament to all the hard work put in by our team into the development of the gin.

"With Ten Degrees gin we continually receive feedback that people love the taste of our gin. We have a highly unusual and innovative vacuum distillation and fractionation process that allows to extract the more pronounced yet delicate flavours from each of six botanicals."

This is not the only award 10 degrees have entered into this year, with the gin also submitted into the Gin Masters Global, International Wine and Spirit Competition and China Wine & Spirit Awards competitions. They also received recognition for their gin from Susy Atkins, the Telegraph newspaper’s well-respected gin expert in a recent article looking at gins from Guernsey.
