Sponsorship secured for another year

Wednesday 24 October 2018

Guernsey’s top sand racing specialists have confirmed that they will be continuing their relationship with sponsors Cherry Godfrey for another year.

The sponsorship is with husband and wife reigning champions, Mark and Lisa Le Page and reigning motor bike competitor since 2011, Dan Clark.

Mr Le Page, who won the 2018 Guernsey Sand Racing Championships, his wife Lisa who won the David’s Cup, and 13 year-old Dan Clark, the reigning Guernsey Sand Racing champion on a motor bike , have all thanked Cherry Godfrey for their fantastic support.

Mr Le Page said: “It was an extremely eventful season, which included a blown engine, a spectacular accident and a snapped chain. Lisa did brilliantly in her first ever race in the car, getting the fastest lap time before having to withdraw from the race after a red flag incident that saw her flying through the air!”

David Cherry of Cherry Godfrey says: “These are extremely talented racers, the best around at the moment, and we are very pleased to have the Cherry Godfrey brand associated with such expertise. We very much look forward to next season and hope that the support we give will allow our racers to develop even further. It is part of our ethos to encourage growth and development in everything we do.

"Now that the Sand Racing and Grasstrack seasons have finished until next April we are very excited by the trials events which got underway last month and continue right through until spring next year. We wish Mark, Lisa and Dan the very best of luck over the next 12 months.”
