Specsavers eyes up new appointments

Monday 29 March 2021

Specsavers in Market Street has welcomed two new Store Directors.

Stephen Watson and Michael Todd both join the store, which was first opened by Dame Mary and Doug Perkins in the early 80s. They will help lead the team alongside current Dispensing Optician Chris Goldsbrough.

Mr Watson qualified as an optometrist from Cardiff University in 1998 and spent the first 14 years of his career working as a Locum Optometrist in the North West of England, covering a large number of Specsavers stores. More recently, he held the role of Director for the Specsavers Chard store in Somerset.

"I have been overwhelmed at the warm welcome we have received and I look forward to continuing to provide the highest possible standards of eye and audiology services to the local community," said Mr Watson of his appointment.

Mr Todd joined Specsavers in 2009, working as a pre-registration optometrist in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. He has held a variety of roles within the company, including Lead Optometrist for the Torquay store and as a Director in Teignmouth.

"It is with great pleasure that I am able to join the leadership team in Guernsey, and I look forward to future success with the store," said Mr Todd.

Mr Goldsbrough welcomed the two new Directors Steve Watson and the store's new Optometrist, Beth Todd.
