Staff at Specsavers are celebrating 165 years of combined service, including Joint Managing Director, John Perkins.

A total of 11 staff members from various departments, including creative, retail operations, internal communications, IT and finance, were recognised last month as part of the company’s long service awards.

Designed to acknowledge the contribution of long-serving staff, the scheme celebrates the dedication and commitment of those who have been in the business for more than 10 years.

Co-founder of Specsavers, Dame Mary Perkins, said: "We are incredibly passionate about our people and while we recognise it is important to bring new talent into the business, one of our key priorities is to retain and develop the great people that we already employ. By rewarding and recognising our employees, we continue to make Specsavers a great place to work."

Legal Resource Technician, Arthur Allen-O’Leary, recently celebrated 20 years with the company.

"Working in Legal is challenging, but to have been fortunate enough to remain in the same department for more than 20 years and to take on such a variety of work is both stimulating and rewarding," he said.

Over the last quarter, a total of 30 colleagues have been recognised for their long service, amounting to almost 500 years of service. Staff members are presented with a certificate, bottle of champagne and either a silver or gold pin, depending on their length of service.
