Grant Thornton Channel Islands says it is investing in its people by promoting three members of staff to senior positions.

Melinda Sunley has been promoted as the company’s new Head of People and Culture, while Donna Wagstaff takes up the role of Senior Manager Business Advisory in the Jersey office and Liz Hawke has been appointed Senior Tax Manager in Guernsey.

Ms Sunley has worked in the financial services and professional services sectors for more than 15 years, with her employer saying she has a proven track record of developing and implementing people and culture strategies that adds value to businesses. She will be primarily focused on strategic recruitment, training and personal development for the 140 employees at Grant Thornton.

Ms Wagstaff has 35 years’ experience in accounts, tax and company secretarial services and will work to support local businesses to find innovative solutions to their accounting needs.

Ms Hawke has worked for Grant Thornton for more than a decade and is a Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. She has specialist knowledge of Guernsey and UK personal and company tax matters and works with a range of clients that includes large corporate groups, trust companies, local businesses and high net worth individuals.

Adam Budworth, Managing Director of Grant Thornton Channel Islands says: “We are delighted to announce the promotion of these staff to senior posts. We firmly believe in developing our own home-grown talent which makes a major contribution to the continued success of our business.”
