Retail giant SandpiperCI, which owns M&S, Iceland and Wine Warehouse among many others, has appointed a new Chief Financial Officer.

Dan Wilson has more than two decades of experience in the retail and hospitality sectors.

SandpiperCI has a wide portfolio of franchise and property assets in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

Mr Wilson, who will be based in Jersey, said he is excited to join Sandpiper. 

"Retail has been the central theme of my career and I have spent my most interesting and enjoyable years in this exciting and fast-moving sector,” he said.

“I have followed Sandpiper CI’s success for more than a decade and feel very fortunate at the opportunity to continue my retail career in my home island."

Mr Wilson has experience with market-leading companies operating in international, complex and diverse business environments. He has held several senior finance roles in the retail and hospitality sectors, most recently at Tesco where he supported commercial growth in the UK and international markets as well as managing treasury activities and mergers and acquisitions in his role as Treasury Director.

He attended Victoria College in Jersey. He was keen to return to the island with his young family. He is delighted to be joining a leading Channel Islands' retailer and is looking forward to improving the business for its customers and other stakeholders.

Tony O'Neill, SandpiprCI’s Executive Chairman, said: “We are very pleased to have found someone of Dan’s capability and extensive retail experience residing in the islands. He will play a key role in the ongoing and future development of our business as we seek to build on our successful first two years in local public ownership.”
