Senior employees at Redwood Offshore have successfully passed EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) foundation and practitioner exams.

The firm says this will strengthen "the consultancy’s data protection capability across the Channel Island marketplace."

Lance Barclay, Senior Manager and Wendy Woodcock, Office Manager at Redwood Offshore have both qualified as GDPR Certified Practitioners after completing the EU GDPR Foundation and Practitioner course. Mr Barclay and Mrs Woodcock are now qualified to fulfil the role of Data Protection Officer (DPO) under the EU GDPR.

Mr Barclay has over 15 years’ experience in law enforcement and compliance, with particular expertise as a Money Laundering Reporting Officer.  Mrs Woodcock has 24 years’ experience in the offshore finance industry with particular expertise in technology, compliance monitoring and anti-money laundering.

James Wood, Founder and Chief Executive of Redwood Offshore, said:

“Data protection is a natural complement to our market-leading regulatory compliance services and we understand that the provision of a DPO will be a key function for all companies when the GDPR regime comes into force in May.

"It is absolutely integral to our proposition that staff take the relevant, professional exams to ensure our services are delivered by experienced and qualified practitioners who are fully capable of easing the regulatory burden on clients.”
