Recruitment business strengthens its Guernsey office

Tuesday 04 August 2020

Suzy de Nobrega has joined 1st Recruitment as a Manager heading up the Guernsey arm of the business.

Mrs de Nobrega joins the company from another Guernsey-based recruitment business where she has worked for the past three years.

She brings a wealth of experience across all financial services sectors as well as marketing and non-finance, her background prior to recruitment.

"I am delighted to be joining a firm with a solid reputation as one of Jersey's leading recruitment agencies and to have the opportunity to build on the offering here in Guernsey", she said. "We have been very fortunate in the way Guernsey has handled Covid-19 and as such, the recruitment market has bounced back quickly with many employers actively seeking permanent and contract staff, so it is a great time to be focusing on growth."

Lynda Sims, Managing Director of 1st Recruitment, said the company is delighted to add Mrs de Nobrega's "fantastic skills and experience" to the Guernsey team.

"A number of the Jersey Recruiters have really enjoyed working from home and been very productive, so we have now decided as a company to offer more flexibility as we move forward and Suzy's appointment will be on a remote basis, linking into all of our systems from home," she said.

"Suzy will continue to visit clients at their own offices and candidates can be registered virtually, face to face, or by telephone, which offers much more flexibility.  Recruitment is a business that can easily adapt and we have already proved our success in conducting our business remotely throughout Covid-19. It seems opportune to continue our growth plans and to provide both office and remote working options to integrate our people and systems into the new normal."
