Randalls redeploys staff

Thursday 26 March 2020

With many of Randalls businesses currently closed, its parent company has redeployed staff across some of its other services to support key services during the ongoing corona virus crisis, while also making staff available for other businesses if they need additional support at this time.

Having been bought by SandpiperCI earlier this year, Randalls is now linked with local retailers including Iceland, Morrisons and Checkers Express.

Randalls owns 20 pubs and restaurants across Guernsey and Sark, and also runs the duty free outlet at Guernsey and Alderney airports.

As staff are currently not needed at those premises, RW Randall Ltd has offered affected staff secondments within those supermarkets run by SandpiperCI, which are able to stay open as food retail is a critical industry, with key workers, ensuring the food supply chains continue throughout the pandemic.

Some staff will also be available to help in other areas outside of the company to support the community elsewhere.

A spokesperson for Randalls said: "We are delighted our staff can help ease the strain and help the local community. Should any other companies temporarily require staff during these unprecedented times please contact us and we will endeavour to help."

Jayne Langlois, Randall’s Operations Director said: "We have been an integral part of Guernsey’s community since 1868, so it is great that our colleagues can help other local companies, we all have to pull together at times like this."
