Primary schools benefit from bank's 'unique' approach

Julius Baer has donated more than £25,000 to the Bailiwick's primary schools since 2017, as part of an annual process designed to be of 'genuine use' to the students.

The Swiss bank offers every primary school £500 per year to purchase a tangible service, activity or asset to benefit its pupils.

During this annual process, some schools discuss what the money will be used for and, on occasion, additional money has been offered to ensure the necessary purchase is made.

"For our team, supporting young people is incredibly important," said Guernsey Branch Manager Stephen Burt. "We're in a position where we can have a positive impact on hundreds of Guernsey children, and we're proud to be able to do that."

"Our initiative to support the primary schools began in 2017, and we haven't looked back. Julius Baer and our people are incredibly generous in their fundraising and they work hard to make sure the Bailiwick's primary schools benefit in a way that improves the learning or social environment for the children."
