Guernsey Post has been given the Gold level Investors in People award.

The utility firm has been praised for its exceptional achievements against the award scheme's framework for excellence, with IIP specialist and assessor Roger Bradshaw saying it is a "high-performing organisation".

Mr Bradshaw said: "The business through its leadership has positioned itself with an ambition to lead innovation in the sector. The organisation leads not follows, enabling the creation of sustainable success. People throughout the organisation demonstrate high levels of engagement. 

"Guernsey Post has been accredited under the Investors in People framework since 2009 and have had the Gold standard since 2012 it is great to see it continuing to grow and develop, and it is a true testament to the commitment of the team".

Boley Smillie, the Chief Executive of Guernsey Post said he is really pleased with all of his staff:

"We are really pleased to have maintained our Investors in People Gold status, particularly as the standards for doing so have increased. This really is a reflection of the commitment and hard work of all of our staff".

The GTA University Centre supports organisations as they aim to achieve the Investors in People award, which is considered to be the international standard for people management. Janine Lane, the IIP consultant in the island, said:

"Guernsey Post continues to focus on change and sustainable success, it is great to see the commitment given to their staff. The team at Guernsey Post demonstrate the true essence of Investors in People as they do not stand still, they continue to grow".
