Ocorian enhances funds offering

Friday 15 May 2020

Following its recent merger with Estera, Ocorian has appointed Melville Rodrigues to its leadership team to develop its UK funds offering.

The company, which has offices across the world including Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man, now manages more than 17,000 structures on behalf of around 8,000 clients.

Ocorian's UK funds team supports both clients and intermediaries, as well as providing fund administration and associated services across all investment structures, with particular specialisms in real estate, debt, credit and private funds.

Mr Rodrigues has more than 25 years' legal and structuring experience and more recently was a partner of one of the UK's leading law firms in London. He spearheads industry thought leadership initiatives, including the Professional Investor Fund - a proposed unauthorised contractual scheme for pension fund and other professional investors, which has the support of industry organisations and many fund management houses.

"We are delighted to welcome Melville to Ocorian," said Managing Director of the company's UK office, Alan Booth. "With the impending launch of the Professional Investor Fund regime, in addition to the current UK funds offering, having the expertise that Melville provides in-house will be of tremendous benefit to Ocorian and our clients. Melville's technical capabilities and industry insight will add great depth and breadth of expertise to our funds business.”

Mr Rodrigues added: "I'm delighted to join Ocorian - one of the largest corporate, funds, capital markets and private client service providers in the world. The team offers a professional funds administration service in multiple jurisdictions, and I look forward to expanding this service in the UK”.
