Aon Insurance Managers has appointed Glyn Smith as an Executive Director with responsibility for its two managed rated reinsurance companies, Humboldt Re and Kelvin Re.
Mr Smith joined the insurance industry in Guernsey in 1977 and now has a wealth of experience working in the general insurance and captive (re)insurance management markets.
Prior to joining Aon, he started his career with Commercial Union and subsequently worked in the Captive sector with HSBC and Heath Lambert, Mr Smith also had two long periods working for RSA’S Insurance Corporation, latterly as Managing Director, leading the business for six years until 2015.
Mr Smith is also a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and holds an MBA.
