New Monster Mondays launching this summer

A new series of 5k races is being launched as a summer challenge thanks to the support of Bedell Cristin.

They'll be run at the motocross track at Pleinmont from June 10, throughout the summer months.

Distance.gg has teamed up with the law firm to stage the four running races over at La Trigale.

Aptly titled ‘Monster Mondays’ the series will be a real challenge with a taxing course available to test the 'competitive grit' of up to 50 corporate teams who will each complete six laps of the track between them.

“Monster Mondays will be an exciting challenge for runners,” said Distance.gg’s Michael Quittenden.

“We planned these races to be a celebration of team work while also encouraging a competitive spirit to win the title of the fastest firm in Guernsey.”

Kate Ovenden, Managing Partner of sponsor Bedell Cristin, said: “The undulating course, with its many twists and turns, will be testing for the competitors.

"We hope that this series of races will encourage firms to get out in the summer evenings and enjoy the Guernsey coastline."

Participants can sign up via Eventbrite with an entry fee of £50 for each team of three. There are male, female and mixed categories.

The Monster Mondays series will take place on 10 June, 8 July, 12 August and 16 September at 18:30 with a prize-giving presentation after the final event in September at the Imperial Hotel.
