Airtel-Vodafone has spent half a million pounds refurbishing and redesigning its retail outlet in St Peter Port.

Sid Ahlawat, CEO of Airtel-Vodafone, said they want to offer the telecommunications company wants to provide a "very personalised" touch at its High Street shop.

"Despite the drive towards more and more online services, at a time when high street retail in general is struggling, this investment shows our commitment to providing a modern customer service and retail experience combined with a very personalised touch, something we believe is very important to our Guernsey customers," he said.

Pictured: The store includes new features such as a Tech Zone and self-service kiosk and follows Vodafone global retail design. A dedicated business suite will also be included as a part of the whole building refurbishment.

Lucy Ann Kirby, Head of the Digital Greenhouse, welcomed the refurbishment, saying it shows how firms can invest in their own technology to benefit customers.

"Now more than ever before business investment in digital tools to support customer service is essential," she said. "It’s great to see Airtel- Vodafone creating a blended experience for their customers, using the best that technology has to offer alongside continuing their high street face to face services."

Mr Ahlawat added: "The digital industry will part an important part in Guernsey’s Revive and Thrive strategy and our investment here is part of a bigger commitment to leverage mobile technology is areas such as IoT (Internet of Things) to develop beneficial societal and economic outcomes for the island."
