Jon Beausire is the new Chair of the Children’s Convenor and Tribunal Board.
The independent body which supports and guides the Child, Youth and Community Tribunal now has its and experienced lead.
Mr Beausire was one of the original tribunal members in 2008 when the Children’s Law was adopted and has since been involved in many hearings and has gained a direct understanding of the issues facing young people and their families.
He later joined the board and served two terms before taking on parochial duties in Castel as both a Constable and Douzenier.
Mr Beausire will bring his chartered management experience to the role previously serving as the Chief Officer of the St John as part of a 30-year career there.
He said: “I am delighted to join a very strong group of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, ensuring that we can provide the best possible advice and support to the Children’s Convenor and the CYCT.
“As a father and a grandfather and as a previous tribunal member, I have seen first-hand the issues faced by families, so it is my honour to be able to assist and support those carrying out their complex and challenging roles in safeguarding children and ensuring they are listened to.”
This news follows the recent appointments of Juliet Bousfield, Charlie Cox and Alison Rimington, who all joined the board earlier this year.
