VisitGuernsey has announced a new business development in the German market for 2020, offering charter flights to the island.

Globalis Erlebnisreisen, a specialist package tour operator based close to Frankfurt, will enter the Guernsey market with a dedicated Island Hopping charter package.

The charter will operate from April, to October, bringing a total of 30 groups to and from Guernsey as part of the tour operator's new Channel-Island Hopping package, which will also include visits to Herm and Sark. The flights will be operated by Blue Islands, who currently provide an excellent service for other European charter flights to Guernsey.

Hartmut Piel, Managing Director of Globalis Erlebnisreisen GmbH, said: "I'm very pleased to kick off our new cooperation with Guernsey in 2020. I've visited the island several times, in conjunction with Visit Guernsey, and I'm a big fan of the destination. I trust that our guests will be just as charmed by Guernsey as I am."

Mike Hopkins, Director of Marketing and Tourism States of Guernsey said: "The German market remains an important one for Guernsey's tourism industry, my Trade and Media team have been working on this opportunity with Globalis for nearly two years now so we're very happy to be able to confirm this new arrangement and to be able to attract a new operator to Guernsey. Globalis has forty successful years of experience, making the company a strong partner for Guernsey. ".

This success has resulted from the hard work by the Marketing and Tourism team, and follows the successful Groningen charter that was launched this year”

Globalis' first seven-night Channel Island Hopping charter package is scheduled to depart from Bremen on 18th April 2020. The last trip of the season will depart from Memmingen in Bavaria, on 18th October 2020.
