Guernsey Post has announced the appointment of Steve Sheridan as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective from 2 January 2025.

Mr Sheridan has served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the past 10 years and steps into the role of CEO following a rigorous recruitment process, replacing incumbent Boley Smillie who is moving to be Chief Executive of the States of Guernsey.

During his tenure as CFO, Guernsey Post says Mr Sheridan has played a pivotal role in delivering on the utility's financial strategy and contributing to several successful strategic projects, including the acquisition of freight and logistics business HR Air, and leading on the procurement and installation of the parcel sortation machine.

Guernsey Post Chairman, Rick Denton commented: “I am delighted to announce Steve’s appointment as Chief Executive. Steve is an experienced Chief Financial Officer with a strong track record of delivering complex change projects. He brings the necessary skills and leadership style to lead Guernsey Post in the next phase of its development.”

Mr Sheridan said: “I am extremely proud to have been appointed as CEO of Guernsey Post and look forward to the responsibility of leading the organisation through its next phase, focusing on delivering our strategy to achieve long term success, whilst continuing to provide excellent service to our customers and wider community.”
