Logicalis helps Guernsey Bereavement Service transform its IT

Logicalis has supported the Guernsey Bereavement Service in transforming its IT, allowing staff to manage counselling services remotely for the first time.

The GBS team was able to work from home during the recent lockdown thanks to the donation of new equipment and a system upgrade, allowing volunteers to keep services running for islanders in need.

“Thanks to the generosity and support of Logicalis, we now have a 21^st century IT system," said John Moses, Chair of Directors for the Guernsey Bereavement Service.

"Staff can work more efficiently, from the office or at home, allowing us to better manage the service and continue supporting clients during difficult times of their lives.

"GBS supports over 150 people a year, helping them work though bereavement and other significant loss. The service has been particularly important during the pandemic when many Islanders have been separated from loved ones and may not have been able to say goodbye properly.”

James Pinnock, Service Delivery Manager for Logicalis, said: “Getting hold of new IT equipment during the pandemic was a challenge due to the vast numbers of people suddenly requiring laptops to work from home.

"We are delighted to have been able to help the Guernsey Bereavement Service so they could continue operating during the recent lockdown and have a system that evolves with them. The new equipment is joined up using a cloud-based system with proper security to safeguard sensitive data allowing staff to work securely from anywhere.”
