Increased demand for Collas Crill family law team

Monday 28 March 2022

Collas Crill's family law team in Guernsey has seen increased demand for its services since it was first established at the start of last year.

The team is headed up by partners Adrian Brown and Elizabeth Couch, who transferred their practice from 'go-to' family law firm Brown's Advocates to Collas Crill in January 2021.

Since then, the team has continued to grow with the appointment of experienced family law practitioner Advocate Sarah Millar in November 2021 as a senior associate

Advocate Millar’s work encompasses all aspects of family separation and she has a particular interest in matters involving children, having previously worked in child protection.

Advocate Millar also conducts general civil litigation, ranging from employment to property disputes, from inception to final hearing.

To provide dedicated legal support, Collas Crill paralegal Jazzmin Le Prevost moved practice areas to join the team in March 2021. Ms Le Prevost assists the team in all aspects of family law and regularly attends court hearings. She is currently studying for her Solicitors Qualifying Examination.

Collas Crill's family law practice sits within the wider international private client and trusts team and advises on all aspects of family law, including divorce and separation and their financial aspects, including matters relating to children, judicial separation, cohabitation, injunctions, prenuptial agreements, change of name as well as international family law.

Advocate Brown and Advocate Couch have 50 years' combined experience and are trained in collaborative law, mediation and arbitration. They are both members of the Family Law Bar Association and Advocate Couch is co-chair of the Guernsey Family Bar Association.

Advocate Brown said: "Since joining Collas Crill, we have seen the family law practice grow and develop. Having access to a network of leading lawyers in other practice areas has allowed us to offer a more joined-up experience for our private clients and Sarah's experience has allowed us to further extend our services.”

Advocate Couch added: “It has been an incredibly busy, yet rewarding, 12 months for the team. The appointment and support of Sarah and Jazzmin has ensured we continue to provide a personalised and responsive service to our clients across all aspects of family law.”
