Michael Williams has been appointed Managing Director of international specialist insurer Hiscox.

Mr Williams has held several senior roles across Hiscox London Market over the last 11 years, including Major Property Line Underwriter, Director of Specialty and most recently Director of Crisis Management.

Mr Williams' predecessor, Steve Camm, will continue as a Non-Executive Director.

Mr Williams will lead an existing team of underwriting and claims professionals with nearly 200 years of cumulative experience in delivering specialist insurance services for both corporate and private clients ranging from kidnap and ransom insurance through to insurance for fine art collections and classic cars.

Mr Williams said the company is well established in its field.

“Hiscox has an unrivalled history in crisis management, particularly when it comes to paying claims," he said.

"With the support of Control Risks, Hiscox has responded to more than 5,800 special risk cases in 147 countries and has the financial strength, expertise and relationships to continue to serve our customers around the world."

Hiscox Chairman Jeremy Pinchin welcomed the appointment.

“Mike has established an impressive reputation both within Hiscox and with our key partners and clients. His leadership, passion and commitment have been instrumental in driving growth and I look forward to working closely with him," he said.
