Guernsey Finance industry update next week

Tuesday 10 January 2023

Thursday 19 January will see Guernsey Finance to host its annual Industry Update event where it aims to provide those working in the sector with details about the achievements of the past 12 months.

The 2022 update was cancelled due to covid so this will be the first annal update since 2021.

The themes for this year’s event are business development and facilitation and co-operation.

Attendees will hear from the Business Development team, who will travel to Guernsey from the jurisdictions in which they are based to give an update on trends in those areas and the opportunities that they present to Guernsey practitioners.

Chief Executive, Rupert Pleasant, will provide a broad overview of Guernsey’s successes since the last Industry Update and will also update stakeholders on developments within the team at Guernsey Finance.

“Guernsey is home to a flourishing financial services industry, one which continues to successfully endure and adapt to new challenges,” he said.

“Guernsey Finance has taken great pride in promoting the island for another year as a safe, stable and secure jurisdiction, together with its expertise in financial services and breadth of offerings. This is the first in- person update since 2021, after the pandemic saw the 2022 update sadly cancelled. The whole team, from across the globe, are excited to share their progress with on-island stakeholders.”

Attendees will also hear from Guernsey Finance's Sustainable Finance Strategic Advisor, Josephine Bush and the heads of the Guernsey Investment & Funds Association, the Guernsey International Insurance Association and the Guernsey Association of Trustees, who will outline how they work alongside the agency to realise their specific objectives.

The event is open to anyone working in the financial services industry.
