An upcoming forum is being heralded as "a wonderful opportunity to help bridge the gap between sustainable development practitioners and financial stakeholders".

Island Innovation’s 'Island Finance Forum 2021 – Investment for Sustainable Development' is being held from 13 to 16 April.

This free to attend event aims to brings together senior financiers, development partners and regulators to share and exchange expertise on sustainable and inclusive financial structures in island communities.

Jon Buckland, one of the Bailiwick’s Island Innovation Ambassadors, said the Forum will explore the solutions for sustainable economic recovery and inclusive growth in a post-pandemic world.

Guernsey has been developing its reputation as a centre for green finance as part of its support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals," he said.

"This event is going to a wonderful opportunity to help bridge the gap between sustainable development practitioners and financial stakeholders. During the Forum we hope to showcase the economic opportunities available from investing in the sustainability sector on islands, with a particular focus on impact investing and ESG.

"Spaces are free, but they are limited so I would encourage those in our local finance industry who want to attend to register as soon as possible.
