Five partner promotions at Carey Olsen

Wednesday 15 June 2022

Carey Olsen has promoted five lawyers into the partnership, including Matthew Brehaut and Louise Woolrich from the firm's Channel Islands practice teams.

The promotions, which also include Kyle Masters, Sam Stevens, and Jay Webster from the firm's Bermuda office, bring the total number of partners across the Carey Olsen group to 68.

Mr Brehaut, who joined the London office in 2016, is a member of the Guernsey corporate team.

He has considerable experience in corporate and investment funds matters, with particular expertise in the structuring and launch of investment funds, which sees him advise managers, service providers and promoters on all aspects of the establishment, regulation and operation of fund vehicles.

A member of the Jersey dispute resolution and litigation practice, Ms Woolrich has been with Carey Olsen since 2011. She is an experienced advocate and has broad practice experience in commercial litigation.

She also acts in complex corporate and fund disputes. Ms Woolrich is recognised in the current edition of the Legal 500 as a "no-nonsense, effective problem solver,” and has been featured as a 'rising leader' in the Private Client Global Elite Directory since 2019.

Carey Olsen group managing partner Alex Ohlsson said: "I would like to congratulate Matthew, Kyle, Sam, Jay and Louise on joining the partnership. Each of them has demonstrated exceptional technical knowledge in their time with the firm as well as total dedication to providing a high level of client service.

“The fact that these promotions are spread across three of our offices speaks volumes to the strength and success of our global offering."
