Ferbrache & Farrell LLP has expanded its family law offering with the appointment of Advocate and Associate, Sarah Millar.

Advocate Millar has joined the firm's dispute resolution team from the Law Officers of the Crown.

Her practice encompasses all aspects of family law, including divorce and childcare issues as well as general civil litigation and employment matters.

"I am very much looking forward to developing a practice which covers all issues of family law, and also continuing to develop and hone my experience in civil litigation with a particular focus on employment-related disputes and issues," she said.

"Ferbrache and Farrell is a local firm committed to Guernsey and providing the best personal service for all of its clients, be they local or international. All of its lawyers and staff have superb experience and I hope to be able to both contribute to and learn from that. It is also a relatively new firm which is in the process of expanding and it is exciting to be involved in the firm's development from near the beginning."

Advocate Millar, who is a member of the Guernsey International Legal Association, studies English Language & Literature BA (Cons) at the University of Leeds, before converting to law and obtaining a Graduate Diploma in law and the Bar Professional Training Course from the University of Law in London.

She was called to the Bar of England & Wales in July 2014 and was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey in February 2018.

"Sarah is a very talented lawyer and we are delighted that she has chosen Ferbrache & Farrell as the place to develop the next stage of her career as a specialist in the areas of family and employment law," added Head of dispute resolution and Partner, Martin Jones. "We look forward to working with Sarah and being able to offer our valued clients the benefit of her already considerable expertise."

Outside of work, Advocate Millar enjoys running and learning to play the piano. She recently obtained a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Swedish Massage, which she enjoys as a way to de-stress from everyday life.
