Richard Welsh has been appointed to the new role of Chief Commercial Officer at Channel Island technology business C5 Alliance.
He was a founder of a consumer lending and insurance business originally based in Northern Ireland which he grew from inception to a turnover of £450m across the UK, before being part of an MBO resulting in ultimately selling the company to an international bank.
Mr Welsh said that clients are concerned about security, pressure on margins, fees and revenue. “By understanding our clients businesses, we can help them achieve digital transformation so that they can better meet the needs of their own demanding customers whilst driving better efficiency within their own business," he said.
"We have realigned the C5 business to focus on three areas - Cloud Infrastructure, Security and Data Solutions to support clients by delivering effective technology solutions aligned to their business strategy”.
C5 Alliance CEO Scott Workman added: “Richard’s appointment along with significant planned investment is part of our strategy to grow and develop the C5 business. In his own business he recognised that leadership, people and value were critical success factors and these are closely aligned to our own approach to business. His intimate knowledge of the local markets will be invaluable in delivering future growth for our business.”
