Credit Suisse raises £25,000 for its chosen charity

Monday 24 December 2018

Credit Suisse presented a cheque for £25,000 to its charitable partner of 2018, Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, at its annual Christmas tree lights switch-on event earlier this month.

To raise funds for the charity, the team at Credit Suisse held a triathlon challenge in July, which saw a total of 220 teams from 36 Guernsey companies completing a triathlon-inspired route in central St Peter Port. The company’s staff also participated in weekly mufti days, cake sales and raffles throughout the year.

The money raised will go towards providing carers for loved ones at home needing respite, with  Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association now able to reach out to 13 more people in 2019, giving three hours per week of respite, 52 weeks of the year.

Cath Bateman, Chair of the Credit Suisse Charity Committee and recently promoted Director, said: "It has been fantastic to support such an amazing and important charity to our local community this year. The team at Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association works tirelessly to care for people with dementia, while providing companionship and advice to families and carers. The Christmas tree lights switch-on was yet again a great evening and it was a real pleasure to be able to present the cheque to Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association on behalf of everyone at Credit Suisse."

Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association Chairman, Stephen Collas, said: "Everyone at Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association is deeply grateful for the support of Credit Suisse and all its staff, for their amazing year of innovative and imaginative fundraising. The donation is very generous and will be used efficiently to relieve carers."
