Closing date nears for Venture Challenge

Wednesday 26 June 2024

Any applications for the Digital Greenhouse’s 'Guernsey Venture Challenge' must be entered soon as the closing date for the competition is drawing close.

Now in its third year, the deadline for 2024 applications is 7 July.

The GVC aims to accelerate the development of Guernsey tech businesses, matching expert mentorship and the opportunity to win prize money to help with important early-stage funding. This year the prize pot totals £70,000.

The successful businesses this year will be paired with a mentor from expert venture builders Blenheim Chalcot. They will then receive an intensive six-week programme of support during the summer to prepare for their final pitch to the judges in September. The winners will also receive tickets to attend and be awarded their prize at The Véyaon Awards in November.

“The Venture Challenge provides a launchpad for Guernsey’s growing number of tech entrepreneurs," said Digital Greenhouse Programme and Engagement Manager, Ben Wratten.

"Working with a wide range of businesses, we know that access to experts and early-stage funding can make a significant difference to the likelihood of success for a venture, this programme helps address these challenges. We are seeing a significant number of innovative new tech products and services launch and it is a pleasure to support their growth.”

So far, the GVC has seen 16 businesses take part with pitch winners gaining key business funding enabling them to grow at an accelerated rate. More information and application forms are HERE.
