CISI appoints new President of its Guernsey branch

Friday 04 September 2020

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment’s Guernsey branch has appointed a new committee.

Christopher Jehan joined the CISI in 2000, before becoming a Chartered Fellow in 2014. He takes over the presidency from Paul Garrard, who has stood on the committee for 13 years.

Mr Jehan has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, beginning at the Bank of Bermuda before moving to Guinness Flight in 1994. He held a number of roles at Investec, before founding Midshore Consulting in 2016. It provides services across the entire financial services industry from offices in Guernsey and Florida.

Mr Jehan has been involved in a number of Guernsey-based groups and committees, which he sees as an important place for the finance industry. “Guernsey has always had a robust place in the financial services world, often punching above our weight,” he said.

“Bringing the range of CISI qualifications to a wider local audience will help our profession bolster its knowledge base to drive forwards.”

“No other professional body provides the breadth that can allow the study of investment management, cyber security and Islamic finance all in one year.”

Jim Winter, Head of UK Business for CISI, thanked the outgoing President for his “leadership and direction” for the two years he has served.

“We welcome Christopher and look forward to working with him to continue our work to shape an inspiring professional educational and social programme for our Guernsey members,” he said.
