Channel Islands to welcome flights from Germany, Switzerland and The Netherlands

Thursday 21 April 2022

European tour operators have selected Blue Islands to operate flights for visitors from The Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland throughout 2022.

The European charter programme will see up to 44,000 visitor nights in the islands and a potential spend of up to £6m in the visitor economy.

Blue Islands Chief Executive Officer, Rob Veron said the airline was excited to welcome visitors.

“We are delighted to once again be working closely with our tour operator partners, promoting Guernsey and Jersey to inbound guests. We look forward to welcoming everyone on board as they re-discover our beautiful islands this summer,” he said.

The summer charter programme launched last weekend with flights from Bremen and Stuggart arriving in Jersey. The programme will see flights from 20 German airports scheduled through to October on behalf of Globalis.

Tour operators Rolf Meier Reisen and Sunair will be welcoming guests from Zurich, Rotterdam and Groningen.

Visit Jersey Head of Marketing & Product, Meryl Laisney, said Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland are “promising markets” for the Channel Islands.

“The Blue Islands charter programme strengthens the island’s accessibility to European visitors,” she said.
