Eligible members are being invited to apply to stand for election to serve as on the board of directors of the Channel Islands Co-operative Society.
Elected directors must demonstrate a commitment to the society’s values and principles; proved strategic, financial and commercial skills; insight and experience to provide oversight to the society’s governance; and senior leadership experience at board level or equivalent in commercial enterprises, the public or third sector.
The society’s businesses include food and non-food retail, sub-post offices, bureau de change and other money services, fuel forecourts, pharmacies and funeral services.
The society’s Chief Governance Officer and Society Secretary Chris Lintell, said: “The Society has much to be proud of as a value-driven business at the heart of the Channel Islands. It has a turnover of approximately £185 million, property assets of more than £130 million, employs more than 1,100 colleagues and last year returned over £8 million to Members through dividends, Member discounts, and share interest.
“This is an exciting opportunity to influence the Society’s strategic direction, development and governance of this fascinating organisation for the benefit of our Members and the communities we serve.”
Completed applications must be submitted by 19:00 on Friday 9 April via the society’s website.
